Like I mentioned in my post about compulsive eating, I think I’ve never talked about these things because I wasn’t sure anyone would understand.  Although I’m moved on from binge eating and can’t even remember my last binge, I still feel the need to share these reasons for my obesity.  How does it do anyone any good to know how I’m losing weight if they don’t know what caused it?  How does it do me any good? So I’m continuing my post series about reasons why I became obese and today I’m tackling my past with binge eating. I think this is appropriate timing because over the last few weeks I’ve had the urge to binge.  Seemingly out of nowhere it hit me – the desire to eat and eat until I feel sick and can’t focus on anything else.  It’s happened a few times and although I haven’t actually done it, I’ve been shocked by the powerful pull I feel towards binging.

I’m a 23 year old male, 6′0, 245 lbs and i’ve kicked up my exercise from 3 days a week to 6-7 days a week, burning 400-500 for each session. I consume around 1600-1800 calories a day.

Farm Fresh Delivery has been delivering vegetables to my front door for two months now, and it’s going fairly well. I have yet to trip over a parsnip on the way out the door, and I’ve eaten several good-for-me plants I wouldn’t have otherwise. Yes, I threw out half the bok choy when it started to rot, after telling myself every night I’d do stir-fry for dinner and then popping open a can of soup instead.

Thanks for all the support for not eating sugar for a while , and for the tips and recommendations you guys gave me.  I really feel like I can do this and it will benefit me greatly.  Those of you who have done it or continue to do it inspire me.  My first test of sorts will come later today as Kepa and I plan to bake some cookies for his school thing.  Oh the temptation!  But I think I will make it through alive because I know I plan on having something sweet this weekend on Valentine’s Day.  Hopefully that thought will get me through the sugary baking process without letting anything go into my mouth.  I will let you know how it goes.
