March is National Nutrition Month and today, March 10, is Registered Dietitian Day. Even though we at DietsInReview.com focus on nutrition news, tips, and trends every day of the year, we wanted to take some time to bring some excellent content your way created by top dietitians. Before I get to “the goods,” I want to explain why seeking advice from a dietitian is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Like I mentioned in my post about compulsive eating, I think I’ve never talked about these things because I wasn’t sure anyone would understand.  Although I’m moved on from binge eating and can’t even remember my last binge, I still feel the need to share these reasons for my obesity.  How does it do anyone any good to know how I’m losing weight if they don’t know what caused it?  How does it do me any good? So I’m continuing my post series about reasons why I became obese and today I’m tackling my past with binge eating. I think this is appropriate timing because over the last few weeks I’ve had the urge to binge.  Seemingly out of nowhere it hit me – the desire to eat and eat until I feel sick and can’t focus on anything else.  It’s happened a few times and although I haven’t actually done it, I’ve been shocked by the powerful pull I feel towards binging.

A few weeks ago Abby from iHerb.com contacted me offering a $50 shopping spree on their site for me and for one of my readers.  Honestly I wasn’t sure what to think of that because I had no idea what iHerb sold.  Did I really need $50 of vitamins?  I already have vitamins!  It turns out that they carry a ton of useful, natural products that are great if you are trying to live healthier.  They have everything from vitamins (my first thought) to herbal supplements to natural and organic foods to beauty products.

After my last post and this weekend I’ve decided that I have the best readers in the world. That’s really the only conclusion anyone can come to.  This community rocks and the support I’ve manage to get (and give here) and made me life a million times better.  There will always be haters and people that don’t like what you are doing, but I’m trying to learn not to let that affect me anymore.  It’s all part of the journey, I suppose. Since I took the weekend off blogging and all, I didn’t do my weigh in and video and all that.  I liked it.  But alas, I’m not ready to chuck my scale yet completely.  I’ll be back with the weigh ins next weekend
